Appearance Settings

You can configure the visual style of your FAQs from
Dashboard > Ultimate FAQs > FAQ Appearance.

This section allows you to customize how your FAQs look and behave on the frontend. By using different templates, colors, font sizes, icons, and layout preferences, you can match the FAQ display to your website’s design and improve user experience.


🧩 Choose a Template

  • Default, Style 1, Style 2
    Select a predefined template to control the overall layout and basic styling of the FAQ block. These templates offer different visual variations like borders, spacing, and hover effects.

Use these to quickly apply a cohesive style without manually adjusting individual settings.


🎨 Appearance Customization

FAQ Group Title Color

Choose the color of the group (category) title. Helps in making section headers stand out.

FAQ Group Title Font Size

Define the font size of the group title. Example: 30px.


Question Color

Customize the text color of the FAQ questions for better contrast or brand consistency.

Display Question in Bold

Toggle to make all question text bold for better emphasis and readability.

Question Font Size

Set the font size for the questions. Example: 20px.

Question Background Color

Choose a background color for the FAQ question area. Useful for highlighting the clickable area or matching your site theme.


Answer Color

Define the text color of the answers displayed below each question.

Answer Font Size

Set how large or small the answer text should appear. Example: 20px.

Answer Background Color

Add a background color behind the answer section to visually separate it from the question.


🔁 Icons

Normal Icon

Upload or select an icon that appears next to the question when it’s collapsed. Ideal for indicating expand/clickable areas.

Active Icon

Upload or select an icon that appears when the question is expanded and the answer is visible.

These icons help users intuitively interact with the FAQ toggles.


⚙️ Behavior Settings

FAQ Behaviour

  • Toggle (default): Each question can be opened or closed individually.
  • Accordion: Only one question can be open at a time. Opening a new question closes the previous one.

Choose based on how you want users to navigate through the FAQs.

Show All Answers by Default

Enable this to display all answers when the page loads, instead of having users click to reveal them.

Hide Group Title

Turn this on to hide the FAQ group (category) title in the frontend display. Useful if you’re embedding a single group and don’t want a redundant header.


✅ Using Appearance with FAQ Groups

Each FAQ Group can be assigned a custom FAQ Appearance configuration. This means you can:

  • Use different designs for different FAQ sections.
  • Maintain consistent branding for sections embedded in different site areas.

To assign an appearance:

  1. Go to Dashboard > Ultimate FAQs > FAQ Groups.
  2. Edit a group.
  3. Select the desired Appearance from the dropdown.
  4. Save the group.

If no appearance is selected, a default appearance will be used (created during plugin setup or by your configuration).


💾 Don’t Forget to Save!

After making changes to an appearance style, click the “Update” button to ensure your settings are saved and applied.
